Leadership Theories – All You Need To Know
Some say leaders are born; some say they are made. No matter what your belief regarding how a leader came about, it is important to recognize how a leader influences and motivates the members to become productive and be the best member he/she can become. Along with leadership come duties and responsibilities. If you think about it, did you ever think of someone as a role model? Did you follow someone’s teachings and applied their advices to your daily life? If you have, what qualities of that person made you follow? There are many answers to that question. One of many leadership theories that can be applied is the transformational leadership theory.
Leadership Theories – How To Produce The Best Results
Transformational leadership theory, unlike other leadership theories, focuses on how a leader transforms or changes how the members work to produce the best results. Good leaders should be change agents. They should be able to adjust to the needs of the members while being able to change their bad habits. For a larger scale example, the president, being the leader of a nation, should be able to have good effects on his nation. He should have the capabilities of changing the environment he is living in to a better one.
Leadership Theories Help Transform People
A transformational leader, to be effective, should be well-rounded. He should have many friends and followers who believe in his abilities. He should sway his non-believers to become believers. This leader should be strong-willed as well. Guts are needed to implement change especially if that change is unconventional.
The good thing about transformational leadership is that it can be combined with other types of leadership theories. The type of leadership that one chooses to use is not absolute. It is relative to the need of the situation and the followers. In the end, no matter what theory a leader uses, he should strive to get the best results in the situation given.
